Create your Simply‑FX account

Username + password rules, citizenship, selection code, and what happens next.

2 min readUpdated Jan 2026

Overview

Go to the signup page and fill out the form. The current rules shown on the signup screen are:

Check the signup fields

  • Username: 5–12 characters and must include A‑Z, a‑z and 0‑9.
  • Password: minimum 7 characters and must include A‑Z, a‑z, 0‑9 and a symbol.
  • Citizenship: select your country.
  • Selection Code (optional): only if you received one.
  • Tick the checkbox to agree to the Simply‑FX Privacy Policy, then submit.

After signup, verify your email to unlock the dashboard.

Email verification troubleshooting

Quick checks for “I didn’t receive the verification email”.

2 min readUpdated Jan 2026

Overview

If you don’t see the verification email, try these steps in order:

Check your inbox

  • Check Spam/Junk and “Promotions”.
  • Search your mailbox for “Simply‑FX” or “verify”.
  • Wait a few minutes — some providers delay first-time emails.
  • If you used the wrong address, create a new account with the correct email.

If you still can’t verify, open a support ticket and include the email address you signed up with (never include passwords).

Useful links

Choose a destination. Page links open the relevant screen; guide links keep you in the help center.

When you need the next step

Separate “missing email” from “link did not work”.

For a missing message, work through the mailbox checks. For a message that arrived but did not complete verification, note the exact screen and redacted error instead. Return to the Verify email step only after the account screen confirms the result; reading this guide does not verify an account.

Keep track of the checks you tried

Optional, tab-local notes. Only tick a check after trying it. Opening a guide does not complete a check.

Setup checklist (end-to-end)

The same onboarding sequence shown on the Setup page, in one place.

3 min readUpdated Jan 2026

Overview

The Setup page lists a simple onboarding sequence. In order:

Follow the setup sequence

  1. Create your Simply‑FX account
  2. Verify your email
  3. Set up two‑factor authentication (2FA)
  4. Phone number verification
  5. KYC documentation
  6. Create your Bitfinex account
  7. Generate API keys on Bitfinex
  8. Link your API keys to Simply‑FX

Is Simply‑FX free to use?

No subscriptions; you keep control of your exchange account and capital.

Overview

Simply‑FX is described as free to use with no subscriptions, and you keep control of your exchange account and capital.

Useful links

Choose a destination. Page links open the relevant screen; guide links keep you in the help center.

When you need the next step

Identify what the amount refers to.

A platform subscription question is different from an exchange trading fee or a performance figure. Use the pricing FAQ for the platform description, and the fees/P&L answer for trading-cost terminology. For a specific charge, include its reference and date, not card details or credentials. These reference pages do not establish a new pricing promise.

Log in (and what to expect with 2FA)

Sign in with username/email + password. If 2FA is enabled, a code prompt appears.

2 min readUpdated Jan 2026

Overview

Log in using your username or email and your password.

Check the sign-in flow

  • If your account uses 2FA, you’ll be prompted for the code from your 2FA device.
  • If you’re locked out, use the password reset flow instead of retrying repeatedly.

Useful links

When you need the next step

Name the screen, not just “login failed”.

Is the password rejected, the reset message missing, or the second-factor step blocking you? Choose the matching recovery answer. Your Simply-FX sign-in and your exchange sign-in are separate destinations; note which one is affected before asking for help.

Forgot password / account recovery

Reset links, privacy behavior, expiration, and what to do next.

2 min readUpdated Jan 2026

Overview

Use the password reset page and enter your email.

Check the reset process

  • The system doesn’t reveal whether an email is registered (privacy & security).
  • Reset links expire automatically for safety.
  • Once used, a link can’t be reused.

Useful links

Choose a destination. Page links open the relevant screen; guide links keep you in the help center.

When you need the next step

A reset request is not confirmation of account access.

The reset flow deliberately does not disclose whether an address is registered. A used or expired link is a different issue from a missing email. Note which of these happened and whether a separate 2FA prompt still appears; never copy reset links or recovery codes into a ticket.

2FA basics (recommended)

Why it matters + best practices for backup codes and recovery.

2 min readUpdated Jan 2026

Overview

2FA adds a second proof (a rotating code) on top of your password. If someone steals your password, 2FA can still block access.

Account-protection checks

  • Prefer an authenticator app over SMS when possible.
  • Store backup / recovery codes somewhere offline.
  • If you suspect account access issues, change password + open a security ticket.

Useful links

Choose a destination. Page links open the relevant screen; guide links keep you in the help center.

When you need the next step

Setting up 2FA and recovering access are different tasks.

Use Setup Studio when you can access the account and are enabling a second factor. Use account recovery when you cannot reach your account. If you notice activity you did not authorize, follow the security response guide and report it directly rather than completing routine setup checks first.

KYC / legal document verification

Why it’s requested and how to submit documents safely.

2 min readUpdated Jan 2026

Overview

Some onboarding flows require KYC (Know Your Customer) verification. This typically involves uploading a government‑issued ID.

Before sending documents

  • It helps prevent fraud and supports compliance requirements.
  • Only submit documents through the official in‑app flow.
  • Check the privacy policy for how personal data is handled.

Useful links

Choose a destination. Page links open the relevant screen; guide links keep you in the help center.

When you need the next step

Check who is asking for the document.

The setup material covers both Simply-FX and exchange-side verification. Note which service shows the request and the message it displays. Keep identity documents out of ordinary support attachments; use only the official in-app upload flow described above. This preview cannot approve a document or confirm eligibility.

Create a Bitfinex account

High-level steps before generating API keys.

2 min readUpdated Jan 2026

Overview

Simply‑FX’s setup flow references Bitfinex as the exchange connection.

Exchange account sequence

  • Create your Bitfinex account and secure it (2FA recommended).
  • Complete the exchange’s identity / verification steps if required.
  • Once ready, generate API keys for trading automation.

Useful links

Choose a destination. Page links open the relevant screen; guide links keep you in the help center.

When you need the next step

Finish the exchange-side step before linking.

Generate API keys (permissions you should use)

Minimum permissions: Read + Trade. Never enable withdrawals.

3 min readUpdated Jan 2026

Overview

Generate API keys inside your exchange’s API settings, then connect them to Simply‑FX.

Review key permissions

  • Use the minimum permissions required: typically Read + Trade.
  • Do not enable withdrawals on keys used for bots.
  • If available, restrict the key by IP and enable only needed endpoints.
  • Store keys securely and rotate them periodically.

If you need support, never paste API secrets in tickets. Redact sensitive parts of logs.

Useful links

When you need the next step

Permissions first. Connection second.

Creating a key does not connect it to Simply-FX. Review the permissions on the exchange, then use the separate linking step and check its result. If an IP restriction is enabled, confirm the intended connection source rather than removing the restriction simply to make a test pass. Keep the key and secret out of this help path.

API connection fails or disconnects

Permissions, IP restrictions, revoked keys, and browser blockers.

3 min readUpdated Jan 2026

Overview

Before opening a ticket, run this first-pass checklist:

Check the connection

  • Permissions: trade access enabled; withdrawals disabled.
  • IP restriction: if enabled on the exchange, confirm the allowed IP is correct.
  • Key rotation: confirm the key hasn’t been revoked or regenerated.
  • Time & region: check device clock/timezone if requests rely on timestamps.
  • Try another browser: aggressive blockers can break dashboards.

If it still fails, include exchange name, pair, approximate time, and any error message (redact secrets).

Useful links

Choose a destination. Page links open the relevant screen; guide links keep you in the help center.

When you need the next step

First connection failure, or a later disconnect?

Write down which pattern you see. Review permissions, key status and any IP restriction one at a time, then note the result. Bots & trading

Set up a trading bot safely

Start conservative, set hard limits, monitor, then scale.

3 min readUpdated Jan 2026

Overview

The fastest way to avoid “avoidable losses” is to start conservative and validate your setup before scaling.

Configuration sequence

  • Connect the exchange and verify API permissions.
  • Select pair(s) and a strategy that fits your risk tolerance.
  • Set hard risk limits (allocation, per‑trade size, max loss).
  • Monitor performance and logs before increasing exposure.

Useful links

Choose a destination. Page links open the relevant screen; guide links keep you in the help center.

When you need the next step

Keep configuration separate from troubleshooting.

Use this sequence to review setup. If the connection has not succeeded, resolve that first. If the bot is already configured but idle, use the dedicated no-trades checklist. A help-page tick never starts a bot, changes a limit or confirms that live trading is enabled.

Bots & trading

Risk controls you should set

Allocation, per-trade size, profit target, max loss, pair selection.

3 min readUpdated Jan 2026

Overview

Common risk controls in Simply‑FX style setups include:

Controls to review

  • Capital allocation: how much capital is allocated to the bot.
  • Amount per trade: how much of allocated capital is used per trade.
  • Profit target + maximum loss: thresholds that define outcomes.
  • Pair selection: choose which market(s) the bot trades.

If nothing triggers, your limits may be too tight (e.g., per‑trade too small for min order size).

When you need the next step

Understand a limit before changing it.

Check the setting label and its scope in the trading screen. When diagnosing an idle bot, record the configured limits and the order-size requirement rather than increasing exposure just to force a trade. Use the no-trades guide to separate a configuration issue from a connection issue.

Bots & trading

Bot isn’t trading (most common causes)

Connection, permissions, minimum order size, limits too tight.

3 min readUpdated Jan 2026

Possible causes

  • Exchange connection: API key connected and not revoked.
  • Permissions: trade permission enabled; withdrawals disabled.
  • Minimum order size: some pairs require a minimum notional size.
  • Risk limits too tight: allocation/per-trade too small to place orders.
  • Pair selection: confirm the pair is supported and active.

If you open a ticket, include the pair and the time window where you expected trades.

Useful links

Choose a destination. Page links open the relevant screen; guide links keep you in the help center.

When you need the next step

Use the symptom to choose the next branch.

If the exchange connection is failing, follow the API checks first. If it is connected, review the selected pair, order-size requirements and configured limits. Record when you expected an order and what the screen shows. An idle bot is not, on its own, proof of a platform outage; do not loosen safeguards just to produce activity.

Where to see metrics

Overview, portfolio, analytics and market views (what each is for).

2 min readUpdated Jan 2026

Choose a dashboard view

  • Overview: quick instrument cluster (PnL, drawdown, exposure, fees).
  • Portfolio: concentration and equity story at a glance.
  • Analytics: deeper breakdowns (distribution, execution costs, pair leaderboard).
  • Market: pair context and depth/pulse style view.

Tip: keep backtest/simulated results clearly separated from live execution performance.

When you need the next step

“No data” is not the same as zero.

Distinguish an unavailable value from a displayed zero and from a value that is not updating. When reporting a mismatch, name the page, pair, date range and live or simulated mode. Use the fees/P&L answer for cost terminology and the backtest guide when the two result types are being compared.

Backtest vs live performance

Why simulated results should never be mixed with live performance.

2 min readUpdated Jan 2026

Overview

Backtests show how a strategy behaved on historical data. Live performance reflects real execution conditions like fees, slippage, and latency.

Comparing the results

  • Backtests help you understand behavior and tune risk settings.
  • Live results are the only true measure of execution + real-world costs.
  • A transparent platform keeps them clearly separated.

When you need the next step

Compare the same scope before comparing a number.

Record whether each result is simulated or live, which period and pair it covers, and whether costs are included. Do not treat a missing value as a zero result. This guide explains the distinction; it does not verify the calculation of an individual performance figure.

Contact support (fastest path)

How tickets work, what to include, and what not to paste.

3 min readUpdated Jan 2026

Overview

The recommended path is opening a support ticket so your request gets routed correctly.

What to include

  • Reference target (not a guarantee): 12–24h (business days). Timezone: Europe/Zurich.
  • Include: what happened, what you expected, pair/exchange, time, errors, and device/browser.
  • Do not paste secrets: API secrets, passwords, private keys.

The supplied Support Studio labels the 12–24 hour response target and opening hours as examples. Check the Support page for confirmed service information; this preview does not establish an SLA.
